5 Ways Spirituality Will Enhance Your Life
4. PRAYER POWER
As with all the other experiences discussed, we discover Prayer Power for ourselves when we begin to explore how it works in real life. Skeptics always doubt prayer, because to them, it does not make sense. They say, if there is a higher and loving intelligence behind this world, this God will know your needs. So what is the purpose for requiring prayer? Why would you have to beg for intervention?
It’s a good question, but also one that has an answer. We begin to feel a kind of “faith power” as we download a greater Spiritual consciousness, learn to follow our Intuitions, develop a path of destiny, and come into alignment with design. When concerning Spirituality, we sense it welling up inside of us, and that is a power that we can actually feel.
Prayer is an exercise of faith power, developed for the greater good of ourselves and others. The key, however, is to use the most effective technique. To our advantage, there is a lot of research in this area. Dr. Larry Dossey has written numerous books on prayer research and has summarized the evidence of prayer, revealing very interesting facts. To a remarkable degree, affirmative prayer works in our lives, infinitely more than a mere request.
By affirmative prayer, I mean a prayer that is declared to be more in alignment with the power of faith. An example lies in the style of the traditional “Lord’s Prayer.” Here, you affirm your faith in the prayer.
“… Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done… on Earth as in heaven…Give us this day our daily bread…” This passage is not a prayer of asking, but of testifying that our prayer will come to fruition.
This becomes even more powerful when we focus on helping others by praying for them. I believe we can encounter that all humans are linked subconsciously, and this can readily be seen with the influences we have on one another. It is well-known that people who spend a lot of time with each other can often be so in tune that they finish each others’ sentences. This can be recognized as being connected with the “One Mind,” recently popularized by Dr. Dossey.
In a real way, we share some part of our minds with each other, as well as with the “Divine Mind” itself. When we affirmatively pray for others and think well of them, we can often see that they respond to this action. They grow Spiritually in ways that we can easily observe. Prayer is a conscious way of sending out this helping influence to others who are not always close by.
Astonishingly, when we exercise and direct affirmative prayer towards ourselves, it seems to work even faster. This is possibly because our minds can now be open to receiving direct Intuition, while showing us how to achieve the confirmed outcome. When personal prayer is applied to every aspect of our lives (Spiritual growth, relationships, finances, health, and wellness, etc.) in regular meditative sessions, our flow of Intuition can be incredible.
